Newborn Insurance needs to be planned for no later than the third Trimester. Your Case Manager will be getting in touch with you during this time to make the necessary arrangements so that this process is taken care of so that you don’t have to. The birth of your child is a very special event. Let us take care of paperwork early so you can enjoy your Newborn.
The Health Insurance enrollment of the Newborn baby are required to be taken care of within the first 30 days after the birth. It is widely misunderstood that the GS Health Insurance will cover the New Born for the first 30 days. This is not correct. The first 30 days are a grace period in which the Parents are given in order to get the enrollment complete. Since the GS is not the parent the New Born is not covered under her insurance.
The Newborn Insurance will be approved since the birth is a qualifying event under the guidelines of health insurance qualifications. The birth of child automatically allows for their enrollment but also allows for the parents to qualify for enrollment as well (if you choose to enroll). The New Born Health Insurance coverage we recommend is also the Platinum (Highest Medal Level) Plan. This insurance will cover all events from post birth and any doctor visits afterwards. Co-pay and out of pocket expenses are dependent on the actual plans.
The application process requires only a few pieces of information. The Certificate of Birth, an address where the Intended Parents are staying and a method in which to pay. A credit card is the simplest form of payment but a US Bank checking account works just as well. The plan will go into effect on the day of the birth and can be cancelled at any time or any month after the birth.
